We have all been touched by the impact of this virus and the subsequent great upheaval in the social norms of western society. So while we are in the second month of lockdown, I want to talk for a moment in praise of a slower pace.
We have been in isolation with our son and have started to adjust to this new version of normal. But the Lockdown pace of life is not the slower pace I want to talk about. I want to talk about the pace of our videos.
In our WordsWorth Vocabulary videos, we have deliberately chosen a slow pace. This timing has been influenced by research and it allows enough time for the English learner to have a chance to repeat the words as they hear them.
The slower pace of these videos means that fewer items are covered in each episode, but it allows the learner the space to repeat the phrase numerous times. When repetition is combined with the isolated item on screen, it reinforces the ability to absorb and retain the information.
And that’s why we are big believers in the slower pace.
Stay safe and well, our WordsWorth family!
