What is WordsWorth Vocabulary?

WordsWorth Vocabulary is an educational resource designed to assist children and new English learners build their vocabulary.

Most of the videos are approximately three minutes long and feature everyday items. The chosen item is isolated and named,  then the learner is encouraged to “repeat after me” with enough time allotted for the learner to recite the word.

This helps children and new English learners build their confidence with basic words.

 WordsWorth Vocabulary helps build confidence

The aim of WordsWorth Vocabulary is to help the English learner build confidence with everyday words.

When we were developing WordsWorth, we looked into the way in which little brains acquire language and retain words to build a solid vocabulary. But one of the most important things the we focused on was trying to instil the learner with the confidence to to try to verbalise the word.

Repeat after me

Repetition is key to building a strong vocabulary, so we have fine-tuned the timing of our videos to ensure there is ample time available for the learner to repeat the word. Additionally, we repeat items three times to enable the learner numerous opportunities to perfect the word.

Why did we make
Wordsworth
Vocabulary?

Well, in a world where screens are ubiquitous, we knew that trying to parent without screens of any kind was not the right fit for us.

So we thought if our son was going to sit in front of the TV for any amount of time, we wanted him to be learning and expanding his vocabulary.

We searched specifically for vocabulary building content to play for him whilst we were trying to get things done (read: all the chores!). But we found very few things that fit the bill. So we decided to make our own educational series.

Enter WordsWorth Vocabulary.
